My host family and I got to spend a week in Disney World Orlando right before we boarded our Disney Cruise.
7.May 2017
It all started on May 7. We planned to leave the house at 6:15 but my hostparents overslept and so we left with about 40min delay. When we finally arrived at the airport we had to drag a total of 3 big suitcases, 4 carry-ons, 1 duffelbag, 3 backpacks, 2 lunchboxes and 1 big purse. Since the girls decided really quick that they dont want to carry it anymore, my hostmum and I had to do it. When we finally made it to the check in, we had to wait for 15-20min in a huge line. I thought that security will get tight for me, but I lucked out and somehow ended up with TSA Pre-Check. We had to basically run to the gate anyway. We ended up checking in the remaining carry ons and only take the duffelbags and personal items with us. When it was time to board we got lucky and could walk right through the plane to our seats and get the kids settled in.
The flight was pretty quite and nice. The girls switched midway through so they could sit next to me and my hostmum. The girls watched a lot of movies on their iPads and I watched „Why him?“ and „La La Land“. I just love the possibility to choose from so many movies and watch them on your own device.
Because our plans were originally different we landed in Tampa and drove to Orlando in a rental car. The drive was not too bad and before we knew it, we arrived at the hotel. We went to Target to stock up on food and stuff we needed. At the hotel we ate dinner, got settled in and went to bed, since we planned on getting up early.
8. May 2017 (Epcot)
We got up at 7am and got ready to go to the parks, but with packing all our stuff, getting the girls ready and eating breakfast, it took us so long, that we didnt leave until 8:30am. We still got into Epcot at like 9am and got to do all the things we wanted to. We started off with a lot of different rides and ate lunch in Germany. After the girls nap and a little walk around the world, there were some more rides and after we ate dinner (again in Germany), we decided to do the Epcot Passport and ended up running around the whole world to get the passport full and done and we got it done. We then ended up watching the firework and left the park at like 9:30pm.
- Ellens Energy Adventure (if the other person is on a ride and you have time to spend totally worth it)
- Journey Into Imagination with Figment
- Living with the Land
- Mission: SPACE (if you dont want to freak out beforehand -like me- than talk walk around that area and find people that have breathing difficulties after the ride)
- Reef Fish
- The Seas with Nemo and Friends
- Soarin‘ (totally awesome and worth one of your Fastpass+, I just love this ride)
- Spaceship Earth (really awesome too)
- Test Track (use the SingleRider Lane, it works so much faster)
- Turtle Talk with Crush
- German Buffet (well it was good, but not 100% Disney Quality and I wouldnt come here if you just came from Germany/Austria)

When we came back to the hotel my hostmums sister just arrived and we stayed up way too late…
9.May 2017 (Hollywood Studios)

We wanted to leave early and sure did get there a lot earlier, it was around 8:30 when we got into the park, but we had to wait until 8:55 to actually get to the rides. My hm sister and I took V on our first ride: Tower of Terror. This ride simulates a elevator falling down and V was not happy that we took her on it. We spent the rest of the day on different rides and enjoyed Disney Food.
- Rock’n’Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith (an awesome indoor roller coaster in the dark)
- Star Tours – The Adventure Continue
- Toy Story Mania (definitly a lot of fun, especially if you have a toddler)
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (this is a real fun ride and I enjoyed it more than once 😉 ).

We left the park kind of early and went to get dinner at Publix and Chick Fil A. We went to bed a little bit earlier and definitly got it easier the next day.
10.May 2017 (Animal Kingdom)

We left early enough today to get the park around 8:30am again and we started our day right with one of the most popular rides of the park. We used most of the day to ride two rides and switch between them. We really enjoyed the day, but got super hot, so we left around dinner time again, to get home for dinner. We didnt see the firework again, but it was better that way anyway.
- Dinosaur
- Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain (a real fun roller coaster with some cool areas)
- It’s tough to be a bug!
- Kali River Rides (a must do water ride on hot days, although you dont get too wet)
- Kilimanjaro Safaris
- Tree of Life
- TriceraTop Spin

11.May 2017 (Pool)
Our plan was to sleep in, do laundry and enjoy the pool. As always that didnt work out and we left at 8am to run some errands. We also used that time to get some souvenirs and make some last pre-cruise purchases. We got back to the hotel, where we went swimming and then it was lunch and naptime. I used this time to (re-) pack my suitcases and get everything ready for the cruise. I also finished writing my postcards. When the girls woke up we went swimming again and it ended like a regular day with dinner and bed time. I finished packing after dinner. Since I didnt get a lot of exercise, I stayed up until way after midnight…
12.May 2017 (Magic Kingdom)
Today we left the house around 8am and got to the parks quite early. We managed to get on almost all the rides we wanted ride away and changed our mind about going home for lunch/nap and stayed at the park all day. The highlight was definitly the new Firework Show of disney which we watched right after dinner time. We got back home around 11pm and were dead.
