Just a few days after I came back from Canada it was time to head back and visit Vancouver and it is by far one of my favorite cities in northamerica so far.

After I dropped of my hostkids I went straight to airport and jumped on non stop flight to Vancouver. I got lucky enough to get a whole row to myself. I was quite disappointed since we got no snack on the entire flight…. The immigration was not as easy as the last few times, because I got questioned a lot, especially because I had just left Canada two days prior.
My original plan was that I would stop at Richmond Market on the way into the city from the airport, but when I googled it at the airport it turned out that it’s closed during the winter time. So I ended up going straight to the hostel and from the very beginning I felt super safe walking by myself (even in the dark).
I only went to the supermarket to get some groceries for dinner and other meals the next few days, before I made myself that dinner and went to bed.

The breakfast buffet from the hostel turned out to be very simple and so my breakfast was just bread, grapes and orange juice… But it had to work for the sightseeing that was planned for the day. I changed my plans a little bit, when I saw that the church I wanted to visit was supposed to close in 30min (Saturday at 10am…) But when I got to Christ Church Cathedral I just couldn’t find the doors, so it was all for nothing, but even from the outside the church looked cute. From here I went to Canada Place, which is like a harbor and they still had a lot of Christmas Decoration out which was really cute. I even walked over to the Harbour Center and originally planned on going up the Vancouver Lookout, but since it was super cloudy and foggy I decided against spending money on it.
So on I went to the Library Square with a really big and nice library, before I walked down Robson Street towards Stanley Park. I walked along the water front all the way to the lighthouse and the view of the skyline and all that was worth every single step. It started to rain shortly after I got to Stanley Park but it didn’t stop me from exploring the city some more. I headed over to the English Bay Beach (which might be nice in the summer, but not in the winter) and after a break at Starbucks I went back to the hostel for a well needed break and dinner.
I went downstairs into the bar of the hostel for a drink and a brownie a little later. And after my daily phone call with my boyfriend I went to bed to be full of energy for the next day.

I started my day rather late and after a quick breakfast I packed my bags and headed to the kitchen to cook some meals for lunch and dinner and pack them in ziplock bags. So after checkout I started walking into Gastown to see the Steam Clock and it was really cool and awesome for pictures (although a little bit crowded…). From here I headed to Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Chinese Garden and Park, which was worth the 10$ entrance fee. I walked through Chinatown and Yaletown before I took my lunch break at a Tim Horton’s. After a little souvenir shopping (incl. Kinder Surprise Eggs) I went to the airport, where I had 5 hours left until my flight. So I finished Orange is the new black, started the man in the high castle and googled a lot of stuff.

On my flight to Portland I got super lucky and had a row to myself again. In Portland I ended up taking an uber instead of the train, because I would’ve waited really long for the train. But at the hostel I went straight to bed after briefly talking to my boyfriend.
