My third stop on the East Coast Tour was the US-side of the Niagara Falls, since I was in my second year I was unable to cross the border.
29.December 2016
We arrived in Buffalo at 6am and after I changed and got ready, we searched for a way to the Niagara Falls. The bus 40 leaves at the bus terminal and brings you to the Niagara Falls for 2$ one way or 5$/day.
In case you have luggage, just like me, you can store it at the official Visitor Center at Rainbow and First. They dont charge you, but you have to pick it up by 430 (otherwise they just put it outside the back door). But we walked all the way to the falls to find out about this…

When we arrived it just started snowing and as we found out, my „snow“-boots are not waterproof and so I had soaked shoes and socks after just a few minutes walking around.
Since we were not able to go to the canadian side (I didnt want to risk, that they don’t let me back in the USA), we were done pretty fast… We went from the Visitor Center to the Goat Island, there we saw both Falls from the side and then we walked along the waterside to the NPS Niagara Falls Visitor Center. I dried my shoes and socks there and after a little break, we went to get some souvenirs and coffee.

Just around 2 we made our way back to the bus terminal. For whatever reason the bus 40 drove north first before we went to the busterminal in Buffallo. And so we spent the next 6 hours at the bus terminal between other tourists, locals and stores. Well those stores are exactly one store and that one ran out of food pretty fast, while the vending machines ran out of everything in there…
So it was no nice waiting time. Then it was finally boarding time and we got to be first in line (we were well prepared that for after 6hours), but time went by and there was no bus and then they didnt board us. Well turns out they sold so many tickets, that they had to bring in like 3 buses.
With about 40min delay we were able to board and even got a window seat. The night was not the best, because my knees and back hurt really bad… But I survived the bus ride and arrived at 630am in Newark, NJ.
My day in numbers:
Sights: 1
Steps: 15.100
Distance: 6,3 miles
