San Francisco (Weekendtrip)

Just before I knew I headed to San Francisco once again for quick 2 day weekend trip. But this time it wasn’t a solo trip, but I finally got to take my boyfriend on trip.

We headed to the airport at 5am to catch one of the first flights to San Francisco and thanks to that the flight was so empty that each of us got a row to ourselves and had a good nap.

IMG_6969In San Francisco we got to get ready together, because they had a gender neutral bathroom (which was really awesome for us…). We took a Lyft all the way over the Golden Gate Bridge with Kirby Cove Beach as our original destination, but due to road closure we had to change our plans. Instead we headed straight over to the Golden Gate Bridge Vista Point and took some awesome pictures before crossing the Golden Gate Bridge by foot. At the Welcome Center on the other side we took a little break and refilled our waters. But now our long walk was only gonna start, we headed up to the Lyon Street Steps, which are worth it thanks to the view (and the house from Princess Diaries is at the bottom of the steps). We got some lunch at Starbucks, when we were on our way to the Painted Ladies, which was pretty crowded but also super nice.

IMG_7130We got some ice cream from Salt & Straw (can’t recommend it) on our way to the City Hall and Union Square. After a stroll around the Union Square we hopped on the Cable Car and took it all the way to Ghiradelli Square, where we got some Cookies and Brownies *yummy yummy*. And because we haven’t walked enough up- and downhill, we walked back up to the Lombard Street to take pictures from the top and the bottom.

For dinner we stopped at In’N’Out Burger (awful long lines and wait times) and then headed straight to the hotel and to bed.

20191125_103529Our day started rather early, but sadly not early enough for breakfast. We had gotten tickets online for Alcatraz a while ago and took the first boat over. We got see many parts of the island and used their audio guide, which explains everything super well and interesting. After we saw everything we hopped on the next boat back and started walking along the piers. We obviously stopped at Bubba Gump, the sea lions at Pier 39 and the Biscoff Cafe before we got to Fishermans Wharf and Boudin Bakery for Sourdough bread for lunch.

We took our time walking through Little Italy and Chinatown. After some pictures at the Dragon Gate, we went to Union Square, where we happened to find a little cafe that served Krapfen (an Austrian food I’ve been craving for long now).

We decided to head down to the Ferry Building, which has a cute little market in it and because we still had so much time, we went back to Union Square and got some Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Because we were so tired of waiting and walking we decided to take a Lyft instead of the subway to the airport.

We had a little over 4 hours of wait time at the airport, because the flight before ours was fully booked and we were unable to switch… But we had plenty of things to do in the meantime.

The flight to Phoenix was not a 100% booked so that my boyfriend and I got one row to ourselves and I got sleep again (sorry honey). Back in Phoenix we went straight home and to bed, because it was 2am and I had to work the next day.
