The 4th stop during my Europe Trip was going to be Nice. I’ve heard many things about this place but not so much about what to do for sightseeing there. So here are my thoughts if you want to head there.
After I packed my stuff and checked out of the hostel I decided to head out for my sightseeing tour. I walked down the Avenue Jean-Medecin, one of the main shopping streets in Nice. On my way I passed the Musee de Palais Lascaris and then continued my walk through the neighborhood Vieille Ville, which is basically the old town. From here I took the little hike up to Parc de la Collin du Chateau from up there you have the perfect view of the city and the coastline of Nice. This place is also perfect for a little picnic and to hang out. There is lots of ruins and other things around to check out to make your stay worth it.
From here I made my way down to the Nice-Letters which was halfway to the beach, which was my next stop for a quick dip in the ocean. It is a rock-beach so not super comfortable to lay on, but the water was really clear and it was one of the nicest beaches I’ve ever been to.
After I dried off in the sun I headed for Place Massena, a beautiful square in the middle of Nice with a cute fountain in the middle. I then decided to walk along the Promenade de Anglais for a little bit, before heading to the St.Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church as my last stop.
This church is one of the most stunning places I’ve ever been to. It is super cute and nice and such a colorful church. I was really surprised to see signs that forbid to sit down, so I asked the lady that was working there for the reason. She explained to me that you shouldn’t sit down, because worshipping god shouldn’t be comfortable, you shouldn’t relax but be reminded to be grateful and appreciate god. (Elders and weak are allowed to sit down if they are there for religious reasons).
From the church I went straight back to the hostel as it was time to head to the next city, but not until I finished a quick late lunch.
