My last stop was in NYC, where I visited my Au Pair Buddy and celebrated NYE.

I decided to call an uber to get to my friends house. Well the driver canceled the ride 3x and then waited somewhere else for me… When I finally got to her house we talked for a little bit and then I took a nice hot shower. By the time I was done, her sister and best friend were up too and we ate breakfast.
Around 11am we decided to finally leave the house and made our way into NYC. Today was just a lot of sightseeing. And we didnt use any public transportation…
We got off the train at Penn Station and walked our way up north. Our first Photo Stop was the Lord Taylor christmas decoration ( a very common picture on Instagram they told me…). Our next stop was the NY public library. This library is pretty old and looks really nice on the inside.
Well and then it was time for our first Gossip Girl moment… We went to Grand Central Station (although it reminded me more about Quantico then GG). We took tons of pictures and then fought our way back out.
Of course we had to stop at the Rockefeller Christmas Tree and the Ice rink. It didnt look as magical as it does usually, because it was still daytime. But its still better, then not to see it at all.
We stopped at a Starbucks for a little lunch break and then we strolled through Central Park and took some pictures and looked at the nature in the middle of such a big city and it was time for the next Gossip Girl moment. We stopped at the Museum of Modern Arts.
We decided that we would try Shake Shack for dinner and so we walked back south. But before we stopped for dinner, we enjoyed walking around Times Square and we got super lucky, because it started snowing, when we were at Times Square.
At Shake Shack we were able to get a table and eat dinner while sitting and talking. And then we returned back home and fell into the bed. Because it was around 10pm already.

Today was NYE and the birthday of my friends sister and friend. So we celebrated in the morning with a nice breakfast. We ate slowly and after breakfast we ate the birthday cake. Since their birthday present was a visit on the One World Trade Center, we decided to do this right away.
By the time we were ready to leave was it 1pm, so we arrived in the city at 230. From Pennstation we took the subway to the One World Trade Center (yeay first subway ride in NYC) and we checked out the 9/11 memorial. We had tickets to get up the tower for 4pm. So we got in line and went through the whole security procedure. The view from the tower was amazing, since it was a different one then from Top of the Rock. You were able to see total different parts of the city.
We were even able to see the sunset and around 5:30pm we headed towards Times Square. We sent an e-mail to the Times Square Team, because my friend broke her foot and they told us we would be able to go into the disabled area. But by the time we got there we would’ve needed to enter Times Square at like 52nd and then walk down Times Square to 44th… So we changed our plans and went into the Central Park instead. Since we had a lot of time left we got really cold.
We were in the Central Park for about 5 hours and well the firework was not bad, but I honestly expected a little bit more. We left Central Park around 12:30, but we didnt catch a train before 1:50.
On the train we had some drunk 40 year old people sitting with us, that way we were not falling asleep… Back at home I finished packing and off we went to bed at 4am.
Sadly my alarm was ringing at 6:45 because I wanted to take a uber to the airport, so I would be able to catch my flight back home to Phoenix. And thats where I am right now.
