For my last vacation I decided to something different and spent it in Miami mostly at the beach, but here we go.

My hostdad dropped me off at the airport at 740am, so I had about two hours until my flights depature. I spent the time talking to my mom on the phone. I like airports anyway, so it was no big deal for me to be so early.
Right now I am sitting in this plane to Miami. We are supposed to come a little bit earlier. But my friend (who is coming from Austria) has already an hour delay, so we will see how long I will wait for her at the airport.
I am super excited, that I will see her again after 503 days. We have a lot planned for the next 2 weeks (1 week Miami and 1 week Phoenix). I just love showing my friends and family, why I love this place and live so much.
Once I arrived in Miami, I had to walk to the other end of the terminal to the very last baggage claim and pick up my suitcase and all the way back to the international arrival area, where I had to wait for my friend, whos flight was delayed for an hour…
When she finally came out, we made our way to our Hostel (more about it at the end). We took the airport train to public transportation and used the Bus 150 for 2.25$ to get to South Beach. Once we checked into our hotel and stored our luggage we decided to go and look for a dinner place. We ended up going to a bar/restaurant. We had a lot of fun there, thanks to the entertainment there. But we went home around 11pm to go to bed.

We got up at like 8am and decided to spend the day at the beach. But after half the day, we decided to do some grocery shopping and getting ready for the superbowl. We went back to the bar from yesterday to watch the superbowl. But we didnt even make it to the halftimeshow, because they kicked us out during the second quarter. So we finished the game in the Community Room in the hostel. My friend went to bed early, so she missed the awesome finish of the game. Although I dont really get the game, I enjoyed watching this special game.

After going to bed late last night, we had to get up early, because we were heading to Orlando. We took Megabus to get to Orlandon. We didnt go to any theme parks there, we went there to go shopping in the outlets. Lets say we’ve been pretty successful. In the evening we took the Greyhound Bus back to Miami.

Our second beach day and today we literally spent all day at the beach. The only break we took was for our lunch, but that was it. It rained around lunch time, so it was perfect timing. Our skin wasnt too happy about the beach day, since we’ve got a sunburn. At night we went to one of the rooftop bar and thanks to my austrian ID, I got in. But we were so tired, that we went back to our hostel and into the bed.

This was our third and last beach day here in Miami. So we decided to spent it all day on the beach. And what should I say, it was all our skin needed to be totally burned now. (Funfact: It is only burned on the right side of the body) We really enjoyed the beach and the ocean. It was been so refreshing to go into the ocean. Although I dont like the sand and the ocean, I did like that ocean. In the evening we went out for a cocktail, before we went to bed early again, for another great excursion.

Today we took a uber to the Port, where we got into a bus to Key West. We used the company Go Buses (a review with a tip will be at the end). We arrived in Key West at 11am, so we made our way to the Southernmost Point of the Continental USA.It took us about 30min to walk there and it was super hot and sunny (no good combi with a sunburn). Well once we got the pictures done there, we had nothing left to do. So we went for a little walk and spent a lot of time at Starbucks and in Souvenir Stores. At 6:30pm our bus headed back to Miami and we arrived there at 10pm. We used another uber to get home and finish packing in the room. Then we went to bed, so we would be prepared for our last day.

Today was our last day and we decided to do sightseeing, we planned on using the bike, but the stations wouldn’t work, so we decided to use Uber/Lyft for our trips. The first stop was Wynwoods Walls(Lyft from HI there for ). Since the wall exhibtion was not open yet we walked around and ran in the Backery, it seemed kind of french, but was for sure european.
Once the exhibition was open, we walked through it and took pictures. And so off we went to Little Havannah with another Uber. After another walk we decided to one last stop before lunch at the CocoWalk. We took another Uber for lunch at the ShakeShack, just to find out that about 100m east there was a Hofbräuhaus and I would’ve been able to eat german food.
We walked home and did a little souvenir shopping on the way. At the hostel we got our luggage out of the storage and repacked some things and at 350pm we took the bus back to the airport, which took us 1 1/2 hours, because of the rush hour traffic. At the airport we went straight to the gate and here I am in the plane back home to Phoenix. My sleeping friend next to me and a movie on the screen.
