For all those who don’t know me as well I am super good at saving money and I usually don’t put a lot of effort into saving money. But I know a lot of people struggle with it so I decided to make a post for you guys on how to save money without missing out on life.
So here we go with some money saving tips that I guess I just follow intuitively.
Shopping
If you love shopping (like most of girls do and I do it too) I have quite a few tips for you. So here we go:
- Ask yourself if you really need the item your are looking at.
- Go back home without buying it and if you are still thinking about something after a few days go back and buy it.
- If you know that a sale will be coming soon (especially in the USA there is always a sale around the corner) and its not super urgent to get something just wait until the sale
- If you know you will need something new for a season (summer, winter) consider to buy it at the end of the current season in the sale to safe a lot of money.
I mean who cares if your black snow pants or your bikini is from the last season.
Grocery shopping
Something a lot of people don’t keep in mind is there daily expenses for like groceries. There is a lot of potential to safe money here:
- If you really want to safe money then it pays to compare prices at different stores and just hit the one cheapest.
- Be on the lookout for sales and buy in bulks. If the chicken you eat a lot is on sale buy it and freeze it.
- Compare frozen and fresh fruits, especially if you only use it for smoothies.
- Do get the grocery store owned brand, their things are just as good as the real-deal and cost you a fraction.
- don’t go to the grocery store hungry (I know I know its so basic, but it really helps to not be hungry when you are buying food)
General Tips
This tips don’t really fit in a specific category but still help a lot to save you tons of money.
- Consider bringing your own coffee in a to go cup instead of buying your coffee every morning.
- Bring your own lunch/snack to work. Thats not only cheaper, but most of the time also healthier.
- If you have a gym membership utilize it to meet up with friends, who are at the same gym.
- But if you don’t ever go to the gym, just end your membership and save that money for your next trip.
- Reconsider all your expenses and memberships. If you have all the streaming services maybe quit the cable or those streaming services that you aren’t using.
- Consider hanging up your clothes to dry instead of a tumble dryer, you won’t save tons with this, but every little bit counts and it helps the environment.
- Keep a lookout for activities you love to do, sometimes they are offered for free or a really good discount. (e.g.: Yoga classes)
