Disneyland Anaheim

I got to go to Disneyland for the very first time and it was super exciting.

We packed our bags that morning and I took the girls to the park to run out some energy. While they took their nap, I went to get the van (with bed, kitchen, bathroom…) with my hostdad and did a little test-drive, so that I am prepared to drive part of the way to Disneyland. My host parents loaded the van, while I kept the girls entertained and after an super early dinner (3pm) we made our way to California. When we switched for the first time we got another dinner from Wendys. We arrived at our hotel for the night around 11pm and went straight to bed.

Our breakfast buffet turned out to have a big selection, which we really enjoyed and ate a whole lot of food, so we won’t need to buy food a Disneyland soon after.

Once we were done we checked out and headed to Disneyland and the Disneyland Hotel, but because of the ongoing Disney Marathon we had a really hard time getting to the hotel. After we finally checked in and dropped our luggage off at the front desk, we made our way to Disneyland.

We started at California Adventure (the newer part) and it was really awesome. I can’t even remember all the rides I went on. I do remember California Screamin’, because it was only the second roller coaster I’ve ever been on and I do know now where the name is coming from. But it was so worth it and gives you quite an adrenaline kick.

Around 4pm we headed to Goofeys Kitchen for our character dining dinner experience. Well turned out while A. was scared to death, V. wanted to talk to all the characters, so our dinner was kind of loud and chaotic. But the dinner buffet is super awesome and we all loved it.

Afterwards it was time to head back to the park and this time we went to the actual Disneyland Park. Since almost everyone in the park was waiting for the parade, we decided to go back to rides that are usually super busy and that way we got quite a few rides in. And we ended up seeing pard of the parade after all. The special fireworks got cancelled due to wind, so we slowly started making our way back to the hotel around midnight (not without going shopping).

Since the girls were still asleep, we let them sleep in and ordered breakfast to the room and headed straight to the parks afterwards. Today we started in Disneyland and headed to California Adventure later on. We enjoyed many different rides, if the girls were to little my host mum and I would take turns either using the single rider line or rider swap. As always I had to go on the water ride and well, we had to go the room before dinner so I could change into dry clothes.

After dinner we watched the World of Colors water show in California adventure. Then we headed back to Disneyland to see the whole parade and the firework. All the waiting was totally worth every minute, we totally enjoyed it.

Instead of leaving right after checkout (like we planned), we spontaneously decided to go to the park for a bit. So we loaded our car and went to character dining breakfast experience. Our plan was to go into the park for like an hour, which quickly turned into 4-5 hours. My host mum and I split the drive once again and after a few snacks, the girls went to sleep pretty fast. We finally arrived back in Arizona around midnight, so we did nothing but went to sleep.
