Day at Sea and Disembarkation Day

As with every vacation the end of it came way too quickly. But we were glad to have a sea day as our last full day on the ship and got to take full advantage of the ships amenities one last time.

Day at Sea – Friday

IMG_1187As I’ve mentioned above our last day on the cruise was a day at sea. So we tried to sleep in, but weren’t really successful and enjoyed a huge breakfast (since the whole coronavirus just came up, the cruise line decided that from that moment on the buffet wasn’t selfservice anymore, but rather a buffet with servers handing you the plates, drinks, foods…) and right afterwards we headed to the pool, where we hung out for almost the entire day (except for lunch). As always we decided to head to the buffet for our lunch and straight back to the pool afterwards.

IMG_1287When I got bored of reading and hanging around the pool I went for a walk around the ship to take pictures of everything and ended up trying the rope course onboard the ship. But just minutes after I got on they closed it due to strong wind and got us all back off. We also went to guest service to pick up our luggage tags for disembarkation. Then I decided to head to the gym for one last workout in the greatest gym I’ve been to so far.

So back to the room for one last shower and getting ready for our last dinner on board the ship. When we got to the buffet we discovered that half of the buffet (including our beloved crepes station) seemed to be closed and we only had a little choice for our dinner. But after a little while they ended up opening the other side as well and we were super stoked to get our regular dinner with fruits, pizza, Alfredo pasta, crepes…

IMG_1308As you might remember we booked tickets for the second show of “The Choir of Man”, but that wasn’t starting until 10:30 pm so we packed our stuff and made sure everything was ready to go. Our suitcases had to be in front of our room by 11pm so that they could take it off the ship for us.

The show of “The Choir of Man” was just as amazing as last night and we would’ve watched it a few more times if we could’ve. We stopped by the farewell party, which was inside today, because there was a storm going on outside and we had to hit the midnight buffet for one last midnight snack before we went to bed, because the next day was going to start late.

Disembarkation Day – Saturday

IMG_1362When we woke up in the morning, we were already docked in Miami and went for a huge breakfast (with all our stuff). Everybody had to leave their room by 9:30am. We had a little bit of time left before they called our disembarkation group (we chose it with the luggage tag color). It was really sad to leave this beautiful vacation behind, but our time was not yet up. It was really hard to fetch an uber at the port, because there were several ships arriving at the same time and thousands of people trying to leave at the same time and the first few drivers cancelled our trips, before one had mercy with us and picked us up.

We had some time left in Miami, but more on that in my next post.
